The StART Festival seeks a passionate, dedicated, and resourceful Associate Producer. The ideal candidate is a post secondary student or emerging administrator in Halifax with an interest in pursuing a career in the arts, preferably as a producer, event manager, or curator.
StART works to support emerging creators. Running both a mentorship program and a two day festival, StART seeks to actively make space for young makers and artists.
As the Associate Producer, you would be supporting us in running the two day StART Festival. Featuring upwards of fifteen artists, the festival creates a hub of activity that allows emerging artists to connect with engaged audiences. Drawing emerging artists into a community of peers working in different mediums, the StART Festival is a hotbed of creativity.
The Associate Producer will support all aspects of the StART Festival’s development, including curation, promotion, sponsorship, budgeting, and other logistics. The Associate Producer will also liaise with applicants, artists, technicians, venue staff, and patrons.
Applicants are not expected to have extensive experience in any of these areas, but the ideal candidate will be a quick learner. This opportunity is designed to be a flexible learning experience, and the specific allocation of responsibilities will be determined in collaboration with the successful candidate, keeping their strengths and areas of interest in mind.
Please note the Associate Producer must be available March 25th to April 3rd.
Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to know more, we’d love to chat with you about this opportunity and answer any questions you may have.
